CLA Architecture Case Study
Hands-on adoption of AI connectors so the team can query live project, budget, and email data in plain language
The firm is a design-build practice combining architecture, structural engineering, and construction management under one roof, with work across Wyoming and Northern Colorado. Leadership had high awareness of what AI could do, and had even connected some of the tools themselves, but no internal capacity to put them to work. The tools sat connected and unused.
Two daily frictions stood out. The CEO's inbox was stacking up faster than it could be handled, and the project management system held every answer about job status and budgets but still required someone to stop, log in, and dig for them. Knowing a tool exists and wielding it well are different things, and that gap is where most teams stall and decide AI "isn't ready."
We work alongside the firm's CEO and team each week, building automations around their actual day-to-day instead of handing over a generic tool and walking away.
First we got their email connector live, so the inbox can be summarized, searched, and drafted against in plain language. Then we activated the project management connector for real use: status across active jobs, budget visibility, drafting client updates, and flagging jobs that need attention. Alongside the live sessions we build a custom prompt library tuned to the questions the team actually asks, and document everything so it stays usable after we leave the room.
Access is permissioned per user and every action is logged and auditable, which matters when leadership is handing over the keys to live business data.
